Simple Ways to Deal With Dermatitis Around Eyes

Do you suffer from itching, flaking and irritation in your eyes or skin around them? If so, then you need to seek treatment as Dermatitis around eyes is an irritating condition that requires immediate attention.

Your skin’s immunity system plays a crucial role in protecting you against many diseases and infections. It helps to protect your body from viruses, bacteria and fungi. However, if the immune system of the skin is compromised, it can result in the development of diseases like Eczema, Psoriasis, Dermatitis, Pustular Rashes, Contact Dermatitis, Stomatitis, Dermatitis, Scleroderma, Polycystic Kidney Disease, etc.

The skin around the eyes and nose is known to be a part of the immune system. It protects the skin from harmful ultraviolet rays as well as helps in blocking the ultra violet rays.

But, if this skin around the eyes becomes inflamed, it can result in serious complications. Some people with long-standing dermatitis around the eyes are aware of the symptoms such as itching, flaking and irritation in their eyes or skin around them. However, they do not treat the condition because they believe that it is contagious.

In fact, the skin on the skin around the eyes can become infected when it is exposed to the elements. It becomes very easy for bacterial and fungal infection to affect the skin in this area.

Once the skin around the eyes is infected, it becomes very painful, red and dry. It is difficult to remove dirt and sweat from the skin around the eyes because the discomfort in this area cannot be compared to the pain felt by the skin on the rest of the body.

If you feel that your skin is prone to infection, the best way to treat it is by cleansing it regularly. By cleansing the skin, you will help to remove all the impurities and build-up on the skin.

Also, it helps to remove any dust that may be trapped under the skin which may result in more inflammation. This may lead to severe eye infections.

One of the most effective ways to remove the harmful bacteria is by using olive oil which is full of anti-bacterial properties. Just soak a clean cotton ball in olive oil and then gently wipe the affected area.

After a few times of cleaning the skin with the cotton ball in this manner, you can remove the excess oil using a damp towel. You can then use a cotton pad to dab some olive oil on the infected area to ensure that the bacteria are dried out completely.

However, if the itchiness and irritation in the eyes persist, then it is time to consult a doctor who will prescribe you with creams that help to reduce the inflammation and eliminate the bacteria. These creams contain both natural and artificial ingredients which help to reduce inflammation and speed up the healing process.

Also, remember that prolonged exposure to sunlight and cold can result in the skin becoming sensitive. Therefore, when you go out, use a sunblock lotion as well as sunglasses.
